Sorry to hear of the trouble, but you did the right thing taking him in now. That low grade infection can turn into a detrimental situation if left unchecked. Since you caught it now, he will hopefully overcome it. It sounds like you have the right idea with fluids and misting, baths, etc. Antibiotics are hard on the kidneys so it is important to keep him hydrated. Keep us posted.
I assume he gets good UV, heat, and a calcium rich diet with no protein.... Is your UV bulb too old? These are just areas to double check since improper heat, UV, or diet could bring his resistence down. Good luck.
