Some folks have room himidifiers...but it can ruin furniture and wallpaper if left too long. Others just mist the animals often.
Others leave the enclosure open, so the iguana can choose whether to go about or bask and/or eat. In any case, any room should be iguana-proofed.
As for potty training, it can be done. It takes time, patience, and timing. A lot of people give them a morning and afternoon bath in luke warm water. Even if later u sterilize everything with bleach etc, it's no fun. Most iguanas (though not all) do tend to do it in certain places, making cleanup easier by just providing paper towels in that/those area(s).
I've seen one iguana use the toilet...but that's another story.
The younger the animal, the more frequent defecation is. The older the animal, the larger the feces. Either way you're screwed! LOL

Other's will fill you in in more details. But it can be done.
