I have a pretty big iguana. He loves to come out of his cage but hates to be removed from the cage. (I always thought that was weird.) I started just opening his cage and letting him come out on his own. Usually this takes at least 2 minutes (its a long time if you are sitting and watching...LOL) and then once he is out I am able to pick him up. I found this works best for me.
