My son's iguana is about 2 1/2 - 3 feet long . I have been doing a lot of reading on this forum about caging . This is what I need everyone's opinion on . His ig's cage is 4x4x3 and is ok for now.I realize many people think the bigger the cage the better. But his ig's habits don't warrent the larger cage.I have a rather large tree branch half way up the cage that he basks on when he is in there. There are other branches in there but he shows no intrest in climbing them . He eats off the bottom . He has free roam of our familey room when we are home , but seems content on climbing on the back of our sofa and laying there for hours .
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I hate to(but will if need be) build this big massive cage if I don't have to. All he does is basicly eat and sleep in it.He does return to his cage on his own when dinner time comes .
One more thing, I leave his basking and uv light on all day . If he was uncomfortable or needed to warm up would'nt you think he would return to his basking spot on his own , or should I set up somekind of light to keep him warm when he lays on the back of the sofa . Our house is always at 70 - 72 degrees.
He seems to be in great health and the vet seems to think he is doing fine.
Thanks Pete
