I already own one iguana so I know the problems that can be associated. We did have one poor little ig we had adopted but I believe she was already in too bad of health to help her. We had a local vet (works with livestock only) he couldn't help her. We now have a new vet located (3-hours away) for checkups problems etc. Our iguana we have now is very healthy and we have already cleaned bleached and let set the cage (yes the cages are plenty big we have checked the size requirements and have plenty of limbs for climbing) that we had the other iguana in. We do know about feeding greens and UVB lights. We just love the iguana we have and had been trying to decide whether to buy or adopt another one!!!

We have been feeding the one in the basement. We have sat down there for hours (literally) with food and it will not come out while we are there. We have tried tossing a blanket over it from the top of the stairs but it whips it right off and runs for its hiding spot. The hiding spot is in a place we can't really get blocked off unless we block off the whole staircase and then of course we can't get down there or it can't come out!!

Any other suggestions and thanks for worrying about the iguana but we are sure about having a six foot long iguana (we have a friend who has a male over 7 foot long) and we just love our reptiles!! We also have a beardie, an anole and a gecko. We're looking to get a chameleon at an upcoming exhibit. Also just in case any one else is worried the cages are all away from each other so that they can't see each other and be caused stress!
