I really don't know what to say. Thumbs up to you for trying to help this little one. Have you been feeding it? Try sitting down there with a bowel of fresh greens like Collard, mustard, turnip, watercress, etc. Not Lettuce as it has no nutrition. Also see if you can set up a little basking spot away from where he hides. Maybe if He gets use to you being there, he'll let you move AROUND him (not near him yet) so you can block off His hiding spot and then maybe throw a blacket over him to catch him?? It's the best I can come up with. How much do you know about Iguana care? Are you prepared for a 6' monster when this little one grows up? Keep us updated on how it goes... It sounds like you have a good heart. He'll be a lucky one if you can catch him. :)

:My brother-in-law has an iguana in the basement of the house he is renting. It was there when he moved in. The iguana is about 2-3 ft long looks well-fed with good green coloring. It comes out and lies in front of the washer and dryer does not act aggressive in any way but runs and hides when someone comes near. If someone wtays at the top of the stairs he lies where he is otherwise he hides up in behind the stairs and no one can get to him. We are trying to figure out a way to catch him without harming him. It was suggested we use live animal cages that the humane society would let us borrow. (The kind they use for feral cats/raccoons/possums etc. I was worried though that the door would close with the iguana in the cage and his tail sticking out. If that happens won't he break his tail off?? We are definitely planning on keeping it if we can catch it. We just don't want to harm it if possible. Our humane society really doesn't care as they euthanize any reptile to come in. We are trying to work with them to let us keep some of the reptiles or help to find good homes for them. But anyway any suggestions on catching the iguana?????
