As far as plants go, I thought about putting live Plants In My guy's new house when we were building it. I learned that Most plants that would be "pretty" in there are also lethal. ANd even if the plant itself wasn't, the bug killers and even the soil might be. So It's kinda hard to put REAL plant in with them. So I chose fake. And I put them around rather the in with him. Just give him plenty of stuff to climb on.
Shedding is a good thing (At least normal shedding is. I'm not sure if there is such a thing as excessive shedding.... Someone else help out here, please!?? ). That means they're growing and being healthy. If you aren't sure about Him growing then take some string, run it down His back Snout to Vent length (SVL) and snout to tail length (STL) and the measure the string on a tape to see how long it is. Record it on paper and then after a month or so, do it again. Good way to tell. :)
WE WANT PICS! Pictures are ALWAYS loved around here. So get some and show us your little fella. :)
Like I said in the last post, I'd lose the ceder. They can eat it and it can cause blockages which can cause MAJOR problems. (I'm assuming you are talking about ceder shaving or chips...)
I give My guy baths several times a week. It's also the time he goes to the bath room. You can put a humidifer in his house (depending on it's size) or you can mist him several times a day and keep trying the baths, He'll get use to it soon. I also have a little pool in My guys house... He's not spoiled or anything! ;)
:Thank you guys so much for the advice... I had done a lot of reading over the past month on Iguanas but they had all said pretty much the same thing. The iguana has been with me for a month now. He's shedding for the second time in just under a month. Is that good? Also, he doesn't seem to be growing much.. maybe it's because I see him every day, but I hope it's normal. What kind of live plants can I put in his enclosure (since they like lots of plants)? I've heard some are poisonous, so I'm kind of scared to put any plants in his home. His shade of green has gotten to be a much more vibrant and beautiful color green since he began shedding again and after we put cedar in his enclosure. I hope that is ok. Oh and one more thing. Kaiser hates water but I read that they have to have a certain amount of humidity or bathing spots... what should I do?
