I beg to differ. "People food" can be good for dogs. Within reason, of course. It varies their diet and gives them other stuff that plain dog food can't. I got my dog when he was 3 1/2 and he had only been raised on "people food" and would never eat dog food, so we had to feed him rice and lean meat all of his life. He lived to be about 15, and that's considering he had been born with a bad heart (most dogs in his case would only live to be 10 or 11 or so, I remember the vet telling us that). A little bit here and there doesn't hurt them, but just like in humans, if you get too much of something it can't be good in the long run.
If I'm eating a salad I'll feed my Beardie a non-dressing-coated piece of spinach or apple (yes, I eat odd salads). Even on Thanksgiving he got a tiny taste of turkey. He's still happy, healthy, and homely as ever. Again, it's the "within reason" concept.
:It isn't good to give a dog pepole food, and it's even worse to give an iguana people food.
