The only bad thing is for every drug raid where animals are confiscated, they slap good owners upside the head. While I fully understand that the industry would probably benefit from some sort of legislation, I feel that the governments dont always consult people who can explain stuff. On point was brought up in chat last night regarding the banning of Iguanids. According to that, when they are trying to ban our big green babies, because of their potential size, they ended up refering to Iguanids which includes things like Chucks and Anoles. Thats where I have issues with laws. I dont know how active the NRAAC is for you but I dont believe it does much here for Wisconsin. Actually to be totally honest I dont even know if it is an active group anymore! But if a group like that could successfully get off the group and operate to its full potential FOR THE HOBBYISTS I might be better with legislation.

:A responsibler herper shouldn't have to worry about the gov't being aware of what you own. I like the regulations, because it keeps the idiots in check and makes sure that if someone does step out of line regarding proper husbandry, they'll get a swift kick up their tooshy ^_~
:When ignorant laws get passed, then i'll get my feathers ruffled =)

:::but, if it were registered, you could have a house gator named elvis?
:::is it legal to own gators in most states?
::In NY you have to have a permit to possess a gator.
::The worse thing about this law is that it gets the state's foot in the door to control what we keep. The initial purpose of the law was so that EMTs, firemen or rescue folks know what to look out for if they have to come into your home. Or at least that is my understanding.
