I do think the there exist a high ratio of crazy mean igs during breeding season. Mine is also not mean, but defintiely crazy. I have lucked into getting males that were tolerable during this time, although I still dread the season. You shouldn't be alone though because I read tons of posts about aggressive iguanas! Once in awhile they stay that way for good, but I think that is more rare.
