I do know many people dont like the collar. If it sets your mind at any ease, prong collars are extremely safe and I test all supplies used on animals (such as training tools, heating products, Veges for iguanas ;}) on myself. Yes you read that right. I put the collar on my bare thigh and had my fiance give it a good hard yank. It just pinches the skin much as a mother would grab the scruff. The chocker collars are actually the ones that are less predictable. They can actaully crush stuff in the dogs neck!
I do LOVE the english bullys.... Heheheh All that sweet grunting farting cuteness! Have you ever seen a french one? They are even smaller!

:He's a cutie =)
:That steel collar is a bit disagreeable, though =\
:That there is a picture of my past dog, Linchy. She was a purebred English Bulldog. We were fortunate with her that she was pretty tolerant of young children (a baby pulling at her teets post-pregnancy must've hurt!!!! lol), but she wouldn't tolerate other dogs that were on 'her' turf. A few years back (before she passed) we adopted a big 6 month old (guessing w/breed) Akita/Dalmation mix. He was a sweetheart and I loved him to pieces. However, when Linchy came home from the 1000 islands she immediately trotted up to him with her dominant little prance, inspected him, and made her displeasure known. Unfortunately, we had to give Mooney (he came with that name, lol) back. Would you believe that his head was up to my hip at 6 months old? (i stand at around 5'5") Man, he was an awesome pup =)
