To the best of my knowledge, Cindy, they do not directly support ANY shelters in this country other than the one that they are rumored to operate in D.C.. I believe they even refused the shelter that I work with when they inquired about a grant/donation to assist with the large cruelty case that I was involved in.
I forget where I found it but I tripped over an employee list one day that showed more and more PETA people (actual former employees) working for the HSUS. That's a dangerous intermingling in my book......
