the color change is related to both temperature and stress level ... very normal and nothing to be concerned about! since dark colors attract/hold heat better, an ig will darken both when he's cold (to attract more heat to his body) or when he's basking (to hold more heat) .... iZ will also get very dark if he's decided to crawl into a small dark place (warm or not) ... (maybe to blend into the darkness better?)
they turn more pale when they are stressed out ... (not to be confused with just "not dark"!) iZ's head and shoulders will turn absolutely *white* when he's stressed out! (like at a few of our early on, bad vet visits ...)
squash, zucinni and green beans aren't cheating! igs *love a variety* of foods! iZ *especially* loves his green beans!!! i'll put a link beolow to an ig site with diet info .... (that we *mostly* all agree on... *grin*)
what's your iggy's name??? (i think they all get on the puters when we're not looking and plot ways to make us silly humans worry about them! *grin*)
green beans + head rubs (for the itchies) for your iggy
