As an addendum –
To clear up any rumors still floating around ---
Over the last few months, many changes have occurred throughout the various PetHobbyist.com sites. The PetHobbyist.com websites have always had a standard set of rules. These rules are not something new and recently made up. Many folks over the years have grown quite lax about following these rules because the chances of their violations being noticed were slim. What is different from before is that there are now a lot more folks around to see to the enforcement of those rules in a more consistent and timely manner.
Along with these changes and additional staff/volunteers, a more formalized method for addressing problems is evolving. As things currently stand, if you have a problem with why your post was removed, please take it up with the Kingsnake.com’s Discussion Forum/Message Board Abuse Coordinator. Please do not take your anger/frustrations out on the moderators themselves.
The moderators of this iguana forum or any of the kingsnake.com forums have no more ability to remove posts than the members themselves do. The moderators go through the exact same channels that the members do in regards to reporting individual posts or entire discussions that are in violation of this site's terms of service or exhibit other types of problems.
All abuse reports whether submitted by the moderators or members are reviewed by the abuse coordinator for the k.com discussion forums (this is a different person from the one who deals with abuses found on the classified forums). The abuse coordinator for the k.com discussion forums is the individual who decides what posts and/or discussions are ultimately removed.
In addition to moderator and member submitted reports, posts are also regularly removed from these forums because the abuse coordinator happened to spot a problem and chose to take direct action on it. The only other individuals currently having the authority to remove posts from these forums are the Kingsnake.com Site Coordinator, the PetHobbyist.com Director of Community Services, the PetHobbyist.com Staff Coordinator, and the CEO/owner himself.
If you happen to disagree over the handling of the k.com discussion forums by the k.com discussion forum abuse coordinator, you may feel free to appeal to those higher up the chain of command: The Kingsnake.com Site Coordinator or the PetHobbyist.com Director of Community Services.
Thank you.
