Ugh, definitely looks weird. It's probably not a burn is all I can say. (old, healed burns tend to thicken and roughen over time, but they do not spread like this, and you do see them scab over and heal, first.) Can't be just a bruise either, bruises look more "black and blue" without the thickening or roughness. Can't your vet do a swab or scraping of the area and check it out? The vet should be able to tell you what the heck it is and how to kill it. I'd get it treated ASAP since it seems to be spreading... Not a good sign.
