Do you have a UV light? If you don't, your iguana becomes sickly and brown over time. A ten gallon tank is far too small. You will need something bigger...and fast. They grow to be 6 feet so you will need a very large cage. I will include a link to my cage, although if you can make a cage bigger than this, all the better. (this was all I could fit in this room)
What is your diet?
You should buy James Hatfield's Green Iguana Manual or Melissa Kaplan's Iguanas for Dummies.
If your night bulb gives off any light and you do not have a hidey hut, your iguana may have trouble getting really good sleep. They like it dark, although they do need to be warm. They make ceramic bulbs that give off no light (this is what I use) or there are radient heat panels. Try www.herpsupplies.com if you need supplies. He is really nice and helpful as well as having prices better than petstores.
Good luck.
:i have an iguana that i just bought a week ago and evry night he turns brown. i have him in a ten gal aquarium with a screen lid with an under tank heater. during the day i have a 100 watt basking light. and at night i have a 75 watt night lite. the light is for nocternal reptiles and isnt the red it looks just like a black light.
