Heya, I answered you on the beardie forum, but big kudos to you for taking this poor guy in. Tempest was about the same size when some jerk dumped him out in the cold to die too. Now I can't imagine not having an ig! Sounds like you're off to a good start, and you're definately in the right place for help :)

The cage I put together quickly for Tempest is technically too small for him, at 4'x2.5'x6'h, but I did it on a minimal budget in an afternoon. With several shelves and the back being completely hardware mesh, he does have lots of room to climb and stretch, but I make sure he gets out often for a good while. Plans for "THE" enclosure have been delayed, but by summertime he will be in a large, beautiful enclosure. I'm glad I did build a "long term temporary" enclosure, its been easy to catch him and get him used to handling, and its given me some time to save some money and plan a really good, more permanent enclosure that I know both he and I will love.

Good luck, and keep posting how he's doing :)

:hi, i am usually over on the BD forum but on XMAS eve my friend found a 3foot iguana in the middle of the street!!!! she is scared of reptiles but feared for its life so she scooped it up and called me. here in the desert the days have been somewhat warm (for xmas) but the nights have been below freezing... i never had one before and i have been reading alot and all my cages are too small(i have and breed BD) he seems to be healthy BUT he is blind in one eye and a few broken toes..... with these injuries and the lizard being in the middle of the street in december, i do not want to look for his owner... i am planning on building a cage this week SO any info on cages or tips on health please respond..... i have read all the "basics" THANKS
