True, many people "rescue" their igs from so called Pet Shops... and that's all fine and dandy. That ig will have a MUCH better life because of it. But, because you purchased from a store, their stock is now lower, and they will buy MORE iguanas... adding to the already flooded market. I'm not trying to say people who buy igs from pet stores are bad people, I even bought one when I was a little kid (died after 2 months because I wasn't told how to properly care for it).
I feel the same way about a LOT of different animals mass-marketed as pets. Pet shops are terrible places for the most part. Even Zamzows, who's pretty much the top-dog here, doesn't provide the best care for their animal stock.
Yeah... anyway everything I've said is just my opinion, so I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

::Wow, it's really nice to see how many of you have offered homes to iguanas who NEED them rather than buying from a pet store and adding to a problem...
:If I knew then, what I know now about iguanas, I would have adopted a rescue iguana, instead of buying a juvenile. On the other hand, if you saw the conditions my Iggi was living in, and heard the TOTAL BS that the pet store was telling me about iguana care, then you would know that I "rescued" an iguana that wouldn't have lived very long. Unfortunately, the pet shop owner got my $19.95. I was one of those people who buy the iguana first, THEN surf the net and buy books to learn how to take care of it.
