I heard an incident like that at the croc forum here. Some guy fed its croc (or gator, but i think croc since gators and caimans can tollerate colder temps) some food at night or in the afternoon, but apparently the water was way too cold, or the ambient temp itself. Anyways, turned out the croc died. If my meory isn't too crappy, I believe it wasa young adult or juvenile.
By the way, to sort-of reinforce my little point, even humans are recommended to avoid bathing in cool water while still digesting a full meal, or else it can result to a rush to the hospital, particularly with kids.
As for what Merlin said, he's right, the temps would have had to be WAY down tollerable low temperatures, in low fifties or below. So I guess we can scratch that reason out. But again, raul0 still didn't clarify whether the temperatures were the same or did changed. Because if the temperatures did remain constant, then the vet is full of .....
Anyways, just wanted to clarify what I said earlier.
