It happens in mammals, and even humans, where we have the 'stones' that we pass with urine. In animals it is common to see loss of appetite and control of the bladder. Of course, iguana do it all at once from one place, so it works a little differently, but it sounds like the ig is passing stones.
Have the vet checked out, usually x-rays can show them. The next step is either "pee them out" all or go under surgery and have them all removed.
Are you giving the ig too much clacium? Did he swallow some debris outside or in the house? Either it is something he hate, or stones formed inside.
Either way, have a vet check him out. It is not really immediately dangerous unless untreated. But it can be painful, especially when passing the larger ones!
