To give you a little background. My iguana is a 7 year old male whom I rescued 5 years ago. He has been through breeding season at least 6 times before. This year it is absolutely horrible and unbearable. He is constantly trying to attack me through the cage bars (puffing, brilliant orange, walking on tip toes, the whole nine yards). I cannot even walk in the room without him flipping out and trying to get me from inside his cage. Today was particularly bad and I could not open his cage to feed him or take him out. (He really isn't interested in food right now but I offer every day and feed baby food through a needless syringe every couple of days if he doesn't eat). I was able to get him to accept water through the syringe and some nutri-cal through the cage bars. I also gave him some progerstrone that the doctor gave me. He calmed down for awhile but started back up. I can't take it and I hate that I am afraid of him. I know part of the problem is because I am female. I also try not to wear blue or green because he really goes wild then. Does anyone have any suggestions for how they got through this--particularly female owners? Any tips?
P.S. Moving his cage really isn't an option because it is huge. Also, he was outside most of the summer this year so I know the sunlight has caused this aggression?
