In Reply to: Iguana's and Bearded Dragons together??? Please Read! posted by Chris on May 03, 2001 at 18:40:52:
Beardeds and Iguanas often make great friends (I saw the SWEETEST picture of a beardie and iggy laying together on a log once!)...as long as they are about the same size and have enough room I am told they get along great.
For reasons of living conditions and specific needs, I would not suggest housing them together permanently...but I think a multi-secies sunhouse would be awesome.
Keep a close watch on them at first to make sure there is no fighting or stress, then I can't see why a few hours a day would be any trouble.

: I was talking to someone at work today and they mentioned that they have a pair of adult Bearded Dragon's and a young Iguana that they keep in the same enclosure. She said it was a large aquarium type enclosure that she guessed at 100 gal or so but wasn't sure. I didn't know you could keep Beardie's and Iguana's together. They put them together a week ago when the Iguana kept escaping from it's old temporary enclosure. She said they do okay together so far.
: What is your opinion on this?? I would appriciate any replies.
: I am asking because I have Bearded dragons as well as 2 Iguana's. I am going to build a large outdoor sunning cage and want to know if I can sun my young Iguana with the Beardies so I don't have to build a second cage as planned. I would only keep them together for a couple hours a day while they sun.
: I had never even thought of putting them together before.
