Congrats on your new baby! I think you'll find that everyone here will agree that igs aren't like any other animal when it comes to keeping them healthy and thriving in captivity. ;) One of the biggest problems with iguana care is that, between the outdated books still being sold (with only new photos to "update" them) to ill-informed pet store staff, there is still so much bad information out there...
You'll find a lot of good, current information at my Green Iguana site. The best place to start would be with my Iguana Care, Feeding & Socialization article and the ones linked to it.
As others here have said, your 4 ft wide one is already too small for him, as igs need enclosures that are at least 1.5-2 x their total length plus room to grow. Hot rocks are out, and the correct daytime and night time temps (and lighting and heating equipment ;) are critical. So is a proper diet (which unfortunately precludes the use of the majority of commercial iguana food products available out there). You'll find all of this and more covered in my ICFS article and the others linked to my Green Iguana site.
You will also need to get your new fellow to a reptile vet. If you don't already have one, see the lists and resources at my Reptile Vets page.
Let us know how things go!
