Hey guys! Well, here's my story. Early last summer, I was sittin at home when I heard my neighbor schreaking that there was a big green lizard in her yard. I ran over to her house, and there was a young, VERY skinny, slightly damaged iguana sitting on her porch. All the spikes along his back were missing and his right front ankle (or wrist... whatever it is on an ig) was broken. He had mouth-rot, and was missing the very end of his tail. I live in Boise, Idaho... so the climate is not very good on poor iguanas, and there's nothing for them to eat. I spent the next couple days going to people's houses trying to locate the owner, but found no-one who'd lost an iguana. So, I decided to keep it myself. I had one as a kid, but I was too young to properly care for it and it died after about 2 months. So... With the all mighty internet, I started gathering information. Buddy is now a happy, healthy, fat, 10"svl and 28"stl iguana.

Ok, so now for the question.

I've read a lot about sexing iguanas, but I still can't decide whether I have a male or female. Buddy eats a TON of food (I feed him a mixture of at least 8-9 different good greens/veggies/fruits... whatever's available...) and is fairly aggressive toward his own reflection, so I've thought male. But it's getting pretty big now and it's femoral pores really aren't very pronounced... no bulge behind the eyes and it's jowels don't stick out that much... Am I just trying to sex it prematurely or do I have a female? HeLp!

Thanks a ton, and sorry for the long post!
-Howie
