(He usualy closes his eye after he yawns. When he threatens, his eyes are wide open.)

This is a threat display at the camera. Took me a while to figure that one out, but that gesture definitely has a different meaning than a yawn.
See the raised crest and the eye? He will gape like that at a mirror, at another iguana, and whenever someone/something makes him nervous. I am guessing, this gaping is a way to settle territory issues with another male without fighting/injuries. He shows he's dominant, and shows how big his mouth is (i.e. how much damage he can do). I think a smaller/less aggressive male would back down and run at this point...

He hates the camera. He always goes into this mode when I try to take pictures - makes for impressive photos, but I wish I could get him in a nicely relaxed pose occasionaly. He looks really cool when he is sleeping.

First eye contact, he does deep headbobs.
When the camera gets closer, he flattens to look taller, and gapes after each series of headbobs.
When the camera moves closer, he adds shudder-bobbing and shuffling sideways to the display.
If the camera moves into his "personal space" (within 5ft), he stands up, waves his tail, and prepares to battle.
I do not care to provoke him any further :)
