As far as the displaying while making eye contact. I have yet to notice it at that distance...pretty incredible, but it doesn't suprise me one bit! Sleestack definitely headbobs at me when I look or talk to him. And sometimes I'm peeking from the other room and he does it as you mentioned! It's happening more and more this year but sometimes he's just to lazy to headbob.
