Yup, that's him... He's 2 and a half years old. This has been his first full-fledged season. Last year he was just getting to that age... The weird thing is that I would have said that his season started in July as well. His food intake dropped, and he was leaving his manly deposits daily in his enclosure. However, starting at the beginning of October, he became much more territorial and nasty (and hungry!!!). He thinks he owns this place! He has challenged me on a couple of occasions, and has even tried attacking my bird (a Yellow Nape Amazon that could easily remove one of his legs if he is not careful). I also have to be careful about reflective surfaces. If he so much as catches a glimpse of his reflection, that sets him off into a rage.

I'm looking forward to calmer days ahead....

:My ig has been in breeding season since July. I adopted him last November so this is our first breeding season together. Ginger is 4 years old (Ginger is a HE - 5' STL). although my iguana has not shown the aggression toward me that you describe - he has otherwise been a BRAT due to his restlessness - stomping around, won't stay in his enclosure without nose banging or destroying something - he knocks his food dishes about, ripped his wall covering off, poop painting (& surfing) ...last night I got home from work to find he'd yanked one of his 36" UVB tubes & half the fixture out from his ceiling! thank god no injury to the iguana, nothing was broken (thanks to soft surface flooring). I wired & tied the fixture back together & put him in the bath to clean the poop off him.
:the good news is the moodiness comes & goes within the months he's been in season -
:at least that's been my experience. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!! be patient.
:is that a picture of Dexter? he is GORGEOUS. how old is he?
