Man, I am really getting tired of this! Do you people even LISTEN??????? Don't just skim over a person's post and then write what you ASSUME. ASK QUESTIONS, talk before YOU jump the gun and ASSUME that I let an iguna "crawl all over the kitchen" and "poop on the counters." I NEVER said any of that. So, once again, LISTEN! SHE actually straddles the kitchen drain and everything goes down there and it is flushed with bleach and then the disposal is switched on (and no, she is picked up and put FAR AWAY FROM IT, so don't think that she is still near it and her foot could be ravaged by the disposal). I think that is a very good way to get rid of her feces. I use a variety of cleaners several times throughout the day so chances of catching a bacteria from her is very unlikely (and no, I am not stupid, I know that there is still a chance of catching something from her, but I do whatever I can to decrease that). I use the other sink to stack dishes waiting to go in the dishwasher and as a main sink. And, if you haven't gotten enough, the counter that she does sit on as ONE OF MANY basking areas (I can fill you in on all of them if you want another excuse to try to ridicule) and is actually on a small wooden platform so she ISN'T ATUALLY ON THE COUNTER and sitting amongst shedded skin and other things, and it is on a completely other side of the kitchen from the stove and cooking areas. So, no, she isn't crawling and pooping all over my food or pans like you thought. That is disgusting. And she doesn't "own" the entire kitchen, just ONE counter all by itself. Therefore, I wish a lot of people would ASK QUESTIONS, because, as you can tell, it would save everyone here a lot of time and stress. So, I hope this brings, hopefully, a close to my trial at the Kingsnake Courthouse. I am not going to reconsider anything, however. I have had her for two years and have never gotten sick. And who do you think you are that you have to be "convinced" by me? Like you said, we are all here to learn, so start trying to learn. First of all, learn that I am not an ignorant iguana owner. I consider EVERYTHING before I do it for Zoi.

:Look, we're not trying to insult. I was bringing it up because I thought you may not have considered those issues. And yes, this forum has a lot of people popping in and out and it is impossible to know who you are.

:I thought your taming ideas were good. However, you should really reconsider letting your iguana poop and crawl all over your counters. No matter what you say about that topic, I doubt you would convince me that it is a sound practice! My iguana is kept very clean and is potty trained (I even rinse and wipe his butt so no particles are on him). Even with these measures, he has tested positive for Giardia, nematodes, and protozoas on occasion through the years. Giardia can land you in the hospital so please reconsider your iguana's bathroom practices. One day he will be 6 feet long and think he owns the kitchen!

:And these are merely discussions here-- no flaming is going on so don't get upset. We all come here to learn and share.
