Also, this MIGHT be a problem. The light has been on every day for too long. About 5 hrs too long! (12 on and 12 off is right, right?) I've corrected that with a timer that turns it on and off. Also, anyone got any ideas on a covering material for a new cage? (Plywood, hardware cloth) I'm going to try to build one onto the inside of my room. (Kinda like a big closet) Any suggestions?
:Yes a 30 gallon is really too small for an iguana that big.
:My iguana is now 4 feet I believe and he is more tame than he has ever been...but still no joy to hold! Once in awhile he will give me a nice hug or sit still in my arms for a few minutes. He doesn't like to be carried around but every once in awhile he'll let me do it without causing trouble. My point is that you can reach a certain level of tameness, but don't think it will ever be a cake walk. Some iguanas are more mellow than others, but if you have a nervous one like mine, you can only work toward getting rid of the aggression, but not the stubborn streak! Good luck :)
