Sounds like he is a bit low on the fluids. Try feeding peices of watermelon or cantalope, something with a high water content. With the rep cal try putting just a small amount on top of his greens(shred the greens to the size of grains of rice))and then spray the whole mess down with water. That way while he is eating the pellets he will pick up some of the greens too.
