People can be terribly cruel. My iguana was also abandoned. He was left in a box the size of a child's shoebox, and had two gerbils inside clawing the hell out of him. He lost two spikes and had numerous scratches throughout his body, and two years later still has scars from them. They at least left him inside, albeit hidden on a high shelf in a pet supply warehouse(no live animals, just supplies), and was very lucky to be found by my animal loving girlfriend before he they all died. She heard a noise while closing the store(which she manages), and thought it was a burglar, so she called the police. Before they got there she found the box and jumped back ten feet when she saw what she thought was a snake. Heheh hehe. Anyway, people can really suck. Why bother getting an animal if you are not really going to love and care for it? They have feelings too, and when we take them out of their enviroment, we make an agreement to take care of them because they no longer can due to our need to have them. We need tougher laws on these issues. Do you guys agree? I'm sure you do.
