Yes in a way its normal.
As far as I know and ive had iguana almost 2 years and her tail has grown tremendousely since Ive gotten her on regrowth they never get the scales back and it will be dark in color. Some do curve but the degree is something you and your vet will have to watch if it curves to much an amputation will have to be done to keep from causing problems. My girls tail has curved but its not to a degree that it needs anything done with it. Check out her website is linked below if youd like to read more about her.

:I had posted a while back describing how Joey lost his tail and we went to the Vet Emergency office...*smiles*.
:Well, his tail is starting to grow back but looks very weird. It is dark...which I expected...but it has no scales and is very skinny and is starting to curve. It has curved even more than what this pic shows.
:Is this normal for tail regrowth?
