Emergencies

Hi Everyone!

Today Myka fell from her tree when my sister was the only one home. She had never seen that happen and was really worried because Myka just sat on the ground, and one of her legs was twisted under her a little (don't worry though, she's fine, just a little teeny bit sore!). She called me at school, but the office wouldn't let her talk to me, they said it wasn't an emergency...grrr. My sister explained that I was the only one who would know what to do and how dangerous this could be to Myka, but still they wouldn't let her talk to me.

Anyway, my point is, I don't know what I would do if she DID break something!! I know that the limb should be kept as still as possible and the animal should be taken to the vet immediately, but that's it! But I don't know if I should wrap it, move her at all, etc etc. Ahhh! I feel so bad now, realizing that if she really did hurt herself today I wouldn't have known what to do other than call the vet! The vet would tell me what to do, but I'd feel safer knowing in the back of my head what should be done.

Can you tell me what is the proper thing to do in an emergency like that? Thanks a million!! Wendy :)
