Hi Zach...and welcome
If this "sore area" is oozing anything..pus,blood,etc..then ya gotta take her to the vet.the infection has become a "systemic" one (affecting inside her body) and she'll need antibiotic shots or medicine to take by mouth.Do use ointments, like neosporin/polysporin. triple antibiotic, zinc oxide(especially for burns) they will help tremendously. Remove or file down any abrasive areas on your branches she may be getting her scales caught on em. Keep your tank cleaned out(many fungal infections occur if tank is not clean))...if she gets in her poop and "tailpaints" you'll need to bathe her (poop left on her body is NOT good) . For bathing her with that sore spot.agree that betadine name brand(expensive) also sold as povidine-iodine antiseptic solution (get the generic its a little cheaper)is worth its weight in gold.and you'll need it for a ton of other things down the road.(its in the first aid section of most drug stores). Zach..you know that tank is not going to be able to hold your iguana too long..better start hittin up mom & pop for the dough now!
