I ALWAYS Have him on his hip leash. And when He does get that "PUT ME DOWN!" attitude, I simply Turn away and warn people to back off. The way I hold him I can always feel when He's about to go off. SO I always have My attention on him. He's not a sneaky critter, He tells you plain out how He's feels and what He's thinking. I'm The ONLY one Who get hit with the tail or scratched because Of the way I hold him. It's hard to describe, I have him on one Arm (tail toward My arm pit and front legs between My tumb and pointer and ring and pinky) with My other hand on top of him. Almost like He's a football (sounds funny but it's true). And When He acts up I simply pull Him into me as though I were in a foot ball game and I was deflecting a shot at the "ball". I kinda curl My body over Him (Not enough to hurt him but enough to use My body as a sheild to Him and people around). Understand? Did that make any sense? Yes, He about an inch or two (haven't really measured Him with a tape yet) short of 4' long STL. He's a little guy compared to others I've seen posted Here. And Having been around animals Since I was VERY little, If I didn't think I could handle Him, I would NOT take him out. I'm not that dumb or irresponsible. I'm confident in My ability to control him even though I'm aware things can (and usually do) happen. I'm ALWAYS on guard when a group come around him. But He usually perks up and LOVES the attention. He's surprised MANY people with how well behaved He is. He's also helped a LOT of people learn about His kind and How to PROPERLY care for them. And Maybe even saved a few other Ig's Lives since people asked Me how he got that big and realized they were doing things wrong. All of which Made me feel REALLY good. I understand your concerns but Please trust that I've already thought of those and SEVERAL others. I ALWAYS Have him on a hip leash and ALWAYS have His sack (a King Size Pillow case with a Rubberband) with Me if Need. We Also prepare for him getting to warm by carrying His Misting bottle with us. Both of My Parents stand on Either sides of Me and Him So We can block people suddenly coming at him. And We're all always looking behind us so people can't run up and grab His tail. If you can think of anything else we can do to prepare ourselves, by all means I'm open to your suggestions. But Please trust that I know what I'm doing when I bring animals around people. I've done it with 1200 pound, 7 foot tall (to their head) horses, a 4 and a half pound, just short of 4' lizard Isn't that hard to prepare for. Again, appreciate your concern. It shows you really do care. That's a Wonderful thing to see. :)
