go back to the shelter several times and visit with it. A vet visit is a neccessity anyway. I would suspect if the urine smells strong that the iguana is most likely somewhat dehyrated. Most animal shelters are not equipped to keep reptiles properly. MBD is not a death sentence and the iguana could live a long happy life with proper care. Deformed toes are not uncommon and usually present no problems. I'd go back and spend some more time with the lizard. She may be just what you are looking for....and you may be just what she needs. :) Best of luck!
