my ig petrie has shown no interest in food for about 3-4 days now. he will look at it and lick it once or twice and then walk away. he has those folds of skin on his sides from not eating. the only thing i think he has eaten is dry cat food that i caught him geting into. he didn`t get very much as there was very little in the bowl. my cat is pregnant and quite the eater. i moved it out of his reach now. he is currently shedding, could this be part of the reason that he is not eating? also, it is getting warmer here, like in the 70`s, shouldn`t this increase his apetite? could it just be stress? his aquarium is now too small for him and i am trying to get him a new enclosure built, but between working, school and variuos other projects i have going, it is taking a long time. so i have decided to put up a shelf or two and a play center thing that i ahve built out of pvc and rope in my bedroom by the window. i am going to put his uvb and heat lamp above the shelf for a basking area and that way he will have free roam of my room and a basking station for now. should this help? he is currently 8.5"svl and about 19" stl i have to put him back into the aquarium at night because i don`t want him to get hrut by my cats ( we ahve 2). i wake up to him scratching in the corners or on the screen top of his aquarium. is this because he is being confined in too small of an area? i let him out everyday at about 10:00 in the morning and he is free roaming until he goes to bed. i am just worried about him because he really is getting skinny and i don`t know how to help it. i am going to force feed him organic baby food tomorrow if he doesn`t eat today. i amgoing to take him to the vet, but i have to wait until i get paid, which could be 2 weeks away. any suggestions on how i can handle this until i can get him to the vet??
