Anthropomorphism or the tendency to apply human traits, emotions, and behaviors, to non-human species. I beleive that this is almost impossible to avoid when you live with animals unless you are doing so in a strictly non-emotional, scientific, type environment for example in a laboratory, or commercial type situation (the meat industry for example) If you keep and love animals, of whatever species and identify with them, you look at them as something other than (and I really HATE this term)lower forms of life. They assume a personna and character all their own as individuals. My feelings of this grow the longer I associate with any given animal and learn their personalities. My rational mind may tell me that it's all just instinctual or learned survival behavior, but what can I say I am a hopeless romantic at heart and my Ig loves me (or at least the plate of greens I'm carrying LOL!)
