Bulge behind vent

One of our iguanas seems to have a kind of bulge or swelling immediately behind the vent. it is tender to the touch and seems to cause the vent to bulge if pressure is applied. We are planning to get him to the vet as soon as possible but we were hoping to get some info before hand as our vet is not all that knowledgeable about herps, and since we live in a very secluded area we don't have the luxory of finding a more knowledgeable vet. Any and all help would be very greatly appreciated.
