Go ahead and ask the history of the animal. He may be fine now. I don't think you should let his past discourage you. This big guy needs a good home. If you are willing to give it to him and love him, then why not? My favorite iguana was a rescue. I have never loved an animal so much. It hurt when he died, but that's life...and we still had 5-6 years together which I wouldn't trade for the world. If you have a strong feeling for this iguana, take him! It could be fate.
