Sorry!!I am so used to talk with my 17 years old son (and to try to understand his feelings)that sometimes I think all the teen ages are...males!!

About the iguana you want to adopt read this: " Its hard to not feel sorry for many of the iguanas you see in stores or people's homes.Sick, emaciated, or dehydrated, in dirty, cold and dark enclosures, or intimidated by cages mates, family pets or children...they seem to cry out for you to take them with you.
Many experienced iguana keepers take home such iguanas, and after lots of veterinary intervention and intensive care at their new home, many of these iguanas end up healthy and hearty(I would say some of them end up healthy and hearty.Lots die from kidney failure, for example). But consider this. Most first-time iguanas keepers find themselves with so much to learn and deal with as it is that they end up overwhelmed by the additional care, follow-through, and funding required for a sick iguana.
If you are new to iguana keeping , starting with a healthier one gives you and the iguana the best chance of learning how to do it right the first time .There is plenty enough time-and needy iguanas-in your future if you decide to start rescuing them once you are experienced enough and ready".

:Well, I am of the female gender, fyi, but it's ok, I guess we all make unprecedented assumptions LOL...But to the point: do you really think that Edgar, as his name is, is truly that affected? Yes when I first saw him, I figured he had either MBD or bad nose rub. I tell you what, he looks pretty darn healthy to me, pretty round and proportional. I also figure CoRR had a good reputation, every other site I have been to has a link to that page...I dunno, I do admit I am young(19) but I learned a lot caring for Skitz(my friends iguana whom we had rescued from a boys and girls club-none the less)!! Skitz was pretty onery, but she was still a joy to have in my life. I appreciate everyone's opinion, and everything I learned from this forum and just how awesome and dedicated you guys are to your masters LOL!! I'll let you guys hear my verdict later! THANX FOR THE HEADS UP!!

::I dont think its fair to recommend to a youngster to spend hundreds of dollars to rescue a deformed and apparently sick iguana that probably (I said probably) will not live long enough to become the large monter the boy wishes him to become. Its great to think about finding a good new home to the iguana but I think we should think also about the boy's feelings and wishes!!

:: :Being that he is a rescue, it is not at all surprising that he had MBD. Please realize also that just because he had problems in the past, he can still live for 10-15+ years with good care now! Also, there really are not many (as in hardly any) captive bred igs in North America.
