Mike, There are lots of people who do know the reason why you buy from a good breeder and pay a little more. I have purchased my cockatiels from breeders. Yes, you pay more than what the pet store sells them for, but your right the difference in amazing. Usually you also get help in what you really need in the care of your pet as well. Pet Stores really need to go through a revamping in general. Once a person actually gets to know about their animal they find that most of everything they really need is at the hardware store, grocery store, and K-mart. Sorry, starting to ramble. Anyway when we purchased our birds the breeder also helped us with proper caging, diet, and what vet was available in the area. We were also able to get help with any problems. In the long run with the right information to begin with we actually saved a lot of money.
