This is a photo of one of the captive bred iguanas in my collection that was hatched out by my brother Jeff in '98.

I don't blame you for wanting to buy captive bred over farm bred...the difference is amazing!

However, in the past when my brother or myself has had them available, it was hard to explain to people the reason for the higher price. There is no way we could compete with the low prices of imported animals, nor would we want to, because I feel that just contributes to the disposable lizard syndrome.

A good point was made by James Hatfield III, when he was over at my brother's place to witness the hatching last year. He brought up the responsibility of the breeder to find owners for them that could care for them properly. Although this is true for all animals, nowhere else will you see such improper treatment of a species as in the green iguana trade.

Just a lot of thoughts to weigh before jumping in to breeding them again.
