WOOW, I didnt know you had such a beautiful male igs!!!You should post here more often because you can give advices to us!
How old are your igs?
Godzilla is muscular because his cage is 7F and he sleeps on the highest platform and I put his food on the bottom of the cage so he needs to climb up and down all day long!!But he is not very big.He is only 50,4 (1.26cm) and weighs around 9 lbs. When I bought him 3 years ago he was already an adult.I would like him to be bigger but I dont know what to do.My other igs grow almost 1 inch a month but Godzilla is not growing up.
People here will kill me but I think male igs are much more beautiful than females.During his breeding season Godzilla becomes dark red and I think he is gorgeous!!Its a pity he is so small!!
What do you give to your igs to be so big??
Flavia
:Yes, he's gorgeous, isn't he??
:(I'm sooo proud)
:This is my new (relatively) little (relatively) sweet baby, Kaaz. I adopted him about 6 months ago. He is a real sweetheart, very friendly with me. He's not as big as he looks. I think your Godzilla is in better muscle condition than him. He has a crest along his spine that he raises up an extra 1/2" - 1" high, when he is angry or upset, and he is posturing in the photo because he hates the camera... I wonder how many people can understand his body language? He is 56" long, has all of his toes and tail, and weighs somewhere around 10lbs. That's 3-4 lbs heavier than he was when I got him - he was so starved and thin he felt hollow.
:I have to say, life with iguanas is not always wonderful, especialy cince I have TWO males in breeding condition at the moment. 10 days ago, I got one of the worst bites I ever had, from Kaaz. Not his fault, really, he was so angry then that he wasn't thinking. I love him, he is my sweet baby and I would hever give him up... but new owners need to be aware that Igs are still wild animals, and will react without thinking sometimes.
:By the way, This is Guy, my other ig. He is nearly 6' long, and weighs 14.5 lbs. He hates me thoroughly right now because he is in breeding mode (see that crazy eye look? watch out!), so I stay away from him and let him go as he pleases... He'll settle down and start tolerating me again soon...
