Well if you can get a closeup of the head and a shot of the femoral pores that may help. It looks like he may have the fat on his head (bumps in the back) which would mean male, but he doesn't have huge jowels (a closeup would make it easier).
Don't worry about breeding season until it happens. If he starts acting very cranky, just keep your guard up so you don't get whipped or bitten. Handle him everyday now so he is used to you...don't let him intimidate you. This way, when and if he starts being a pain, he may have a little more tolerance for you. If he starts lunges for you in his season, give him some alone time to cool off. (but don't stay away too long or you may encourage this behavior...he'll know how to get rid of you! hee hee)
