Nictitating ("third") eyelids aren't always seeable - sometimes they are deployed and retracted so quickly that it looks like a regular eyelid blink if you don't know what you are looking at or aren't looking at them at that brief moment.

Males and females may develop horns. It depends on if that trait is present in the population the iguana is originally from or not. At one time it was thought that horned iguanas were a different species or subspecies from the green iguana, until they realized it is a trait, like straight vs. curly hair in humans. ;)
