When JJ was little, I actually used regular nail clippers; ones you would use on yourself. Now that she's bigger, I have a set of clippers similar to the lizard or cat ones, but they are for people to cut their toenails. Try to get your ig used to it early on, as it is no fun to wrestle with a six footer that does NOT want his nails clipped!
:Just don't cut too deep....I only cut the sharp tips. I've used many types of clippers but I think the one I have now works the best. They are the kiddie looking scissors with a notch cut out of the blade-- find them at the petstore or oneline.
:Unless you like getting bloody, I would recommend it! Of course, my iguana is so heavy now that I get scratches no matter what!
:It will affect their climbing abilities some, but not too badly. They grow back pretty fast anyway.
