in the wild, iggy mommies don't run around with a choking measure (those little tubes used to measure the safety of objects for little kids to play with).
Iguana's just grab something, tear, and swallow. Leafy greens are pretty flexible and easy to swallow, even when taken in large pieces. And even then, the iguana teeth cut or atleast punch little holes in the food to make it easier to swallow.
Personally, I think that iguana's do chew their food to a certain extent. I've had Tarzan snatch whole strawberries from my hands and chew them up and then swallow them. He takes them, squeezes/chops them up with his teeth/jaws, and swallows them piece by piece.
You'd be amazed at what they could stomache.
I'm not saying there isn't a choking hazard, but you don't have to give them spaghetti sized pieces of collards and such. As long as you don't give them unbendable sticks/stems with sharp edges, they should be fine. Tarzan eats around even the finer veins and stems when I let him have a whole leaf of collard (I hold the stem and he rips off pieces).
lol, just my 2 cents
