After several months and he trusts me he never tries to bite or whip. That doesn't mean he doesn't periodically 'make a break for it'. If he is on the couch or somewhere I can just go pick him up. But if he gets down on the floor the chase is on. Either that or I just let him go back to his cage on his own. Try handfeeding and take it slow, talking to him, and gently touching him and try to get him used to you. If your cage allows it pick him up from underneath as opposed to swooping down on him from above. I know it is a real exercize in patience. But as some say it's a wonder that they can be tamed at all.
