Wow im glad you said they are still at the store cuz if you had them already i would have stuck a fork in my eye. Ok first off, you might want to just get one, these things get between 4-6 feet long and are a LOT of work, especially when they arent babies anymore. First thing housing, for 2 iguanas your gonna need like an entire bedroom, these things grow pretty fast, and they HAVE to climb, its not a should climb, they NEED climbing space, i keep my one in a bathroom of mine, set up wood posts covered in screen and repti carpet for him to climb on., You might want to consider building a cage, that works nicely, but i dont know much about building a cage, thats why my iguana is in a bathroom, Also consider this, ive heard iguanas not kept in cages example, bathrooms, rooms, whole houses, are much tamer and more nice to owners. So thats a plus. For heating lizards heat up in the day, snakes do it at night, with snakes heat pads are good, but with lizards you should get a basking light bulb, thats the best for them to recieve their heat from above. I use a uvheat bulb, you can get one at www.beanfarm.com for 55 dollars, i suggest the flood bulbs for iguanas, this takes care of the heat and uva and uvb, which all reptiles except nocturnal creatures must have, it helps them psychologically enhances colors, activates them, makes them hungy, and most importantly provides them with the chemical needed to process their calcium, if you dont supply adequate uvb radiation to your iguanas they WILL die of metabolic bone disease (MBD). If you choose not to get the 55 dollar heat/uv bulb you need to get a reptosun 5.0 made by zoo med, these are flourescent and the radiation only goes about 12 inches from the bulb, it spreads out too much after that length to be useful, but with a flourescent you need a separate bulb for the heating,. Basking areas should be 95-100 degrees, the cooler side should be about 85 and a few degrees around that, they need humidity also so get a small humidifier or lots of water in the cage. Speaking of which offer them water every single day. For diet, this is a wonderful meal, take collard greens, endive, escarole, and a small amount of green beans and grated butternut squash throw into a blender and add a bit of water to get it to blend, then strain it in a spaghettie strainer to get excess water and juices out, it lasts about a week in a tupperware container in teh fridge. Thats a really good didet, and about twice a weelk sprinkle calcium powder on it. Also handle your iguana everday if you dont want to be taken over one day by a 4 foot + green thing. So i think thats it, also they live for aboutr 15 sometimes more years, and they easily get to over 5 feet, and they can get kinda wild sometiems, so like i said reconsider the second one. especially if you are a beginner to iguanas, because they are a lot of work, housing these big things is pretty hard. and they have claws that will make your arm bloody, so please reconsider the second one. But you did a good job getting information before you actually got them, i congratulate you, and good luck with "it" not them please.
